Type of activity: Visits with workshops for primary school
Duration: 75 minutes (45′ interactive visit + 30′ laboratory)
Teaching materials: wood lamps (torches), white paper, objects of different shapes, fluorescent markers, panel to obscure the sunlight.
Performance: The activity can be carried out by two classes at the same time, one class will first make the interactive visit and then the workshop, the second class the reverse path.
Are you afraid of the dark? How do you perceive it? What do you imagine when you are in the dark? How can we go through the darkness or represent it? The interactive visit, focused on the concept of light/darkness, perception/visibility, will be addressed to primary school classes and will focus in particular on the direct observation of the works on display in the exhibition, exploring different languages and perceptions of darkness, of darkness.
The visit will focus in particular on some installations that will be a source of inspiration for the development of the laboratory. The works of: Boltanski, Monster Chetwynd, Flavio Favelli, Gino de Dominicis.
During the workshop, the theme of darkness will be addressed through the game of art, with the aim of reducing fear. Through the construction of a new reality, with the use of black light (wood light), you will create unusual shapes, starting first from the imagination of figures and objects related to the dark, and then create through the use of this special light, magical and unexpected apparitions, thus arriving at new perspectives of perception of reality.
